Notary Services

Hi Everyone.  I am licensed Notary and paralegal in the law offices of Barron & Associates.  I am available in our Pleasant Hill Office during regular business hours for all of your notary service, or I can schedule mobile notary services for Solano County or Contra Costa County.

What Is Notarization?

Notarization is the official fraud-deterrent process that assures the parties of a transaction that a document is authentic, and can be trusted. It is a three-part process, performed by a Notary Public, that includes of vetting, certifying and record-keeping. Notarizations are sometimes referred to as "notarial acts."

Mobile Notary Service

Our mobile notary will travel to any offsite location including hospitals, care homes, and any place of business for a minimum travel fee of $50 and max depending upon distance traveled. For each document notarized there will be a simple fee of $15 per signature.

To make an appointment for mobile notary service call me at (925) 937-4400 ex.3, or email me at kara@barronlawoffice.com.

How to Prepare for Notary

It is important to prepare for your notary public appointment. Being prepared will save you both time and money.

  • All documents must be filled out before arriving to your appointment, but do not sign the document until requested to do so by the Notary.

  • Signer must physically appear and sign documents in front of Notary.

  • The signer must bring valid form of ID (State DL, State ID Card, US Passport). If you are unsure if your ID is acceptable, don’t hesitate to call us and ask.

  • As a license Notary in the State of California, Notaries are prohibited from notarizing or certifying copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates.

Know Your Document

Know what type of notarization you need; for example, an acknowledgment, jurat, oath or affirmation. This is especially important if the notarial statement isn’t attached to your document. Please ask the party requiring the notarization to provide the notarial statement or to advise the type needed. Notarizations can have legal ramifications. Notaries aren’t licensed attorneys and aren’t authorized to decide the type of notarization needed.

Mark Pages to Be Notarized

If you’re bringing in a large document, mark the page(s) that needs to be notarized. Please pay special attention to any blank spaces on the page to be notarized and put a line through the space or write "NA" (not applicable). If there are misspellings, please make changes on the document.
